History
“To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk.” ― Thomas Edison (Inventor). It was 2001 when John Murray and Jon Saferstein crossed paths. Murray was running a company that specialized in oils and Saferstein was running a manufacturing company. The collaboration, which was originally to create a coating for specialized application, created a revolutionary technology for the lubrication industry -- SiC Lubrication. Murray's background in automotive engineering and Saferstein's background in manufacturing was the perfect fit to take their discovery to the next level.
“There are no new inventions, only new discoveries." ― Stephen Richards (Author). Starting in a garage in Gardena, CA, Murray and Saferstein began the arduous process of testing CERMA and setting up protocols for sale of the product. The product was doing great things to engines, but to what extent? In 2005, CERMA was tested at the premier EPA and CARB certified laboratory in Southern California, California Environmental Engineering (CEE). Test results were incredible. Using stringent CARB protocols, CERMA showed a 92% reduction in emissions and more than a 4.4% improvement in fuel economy.
“I never did anything worth doing by accident, nor did any of my inventions come by accident; they came by work." ― Plato (Philosopher). After 6 years of real world and laboratory testing CERMA was ready for market. Dea Shores joined the team and CERMA opened offices outside Dallas, TX. Starting with Cerma STM3 Engine Treatment, a one time treatment for engines, Cerma starting selling and innovating. The line of treatments expanded to include transmissions, drive-trains, 2 cyle engines, motorcycles, diesels, and large semi trucks. And in 2010, Cerma created a grease utilizing its incredible SiC lubrication technology. CERMA STM3 Grease is the best lubrication grease sold anywhere.
“Invention is by its very nature disruptive. If you want to be understood at all times, then don't do anything new.” ― Jeff Bezos (Founder Amazon.com). The SiC Lubrication process for CERMA STM3 Engine Treatments was a simple one time application, combining the Silicone in the Cerma formula with the Carbon in the engine oil to treat the metal surfaces across the engine. But because Cerma is a "metal treatment" and does not mix with oil, would there be an opportunity to mix Cerma into a motor oil and create new type of oil? An oil that outperformed any standard or synthetic oil, but still maintained an affordable price? The answer, a resounding YES. Cerma was able to create a process by which the active STM3 formula is suspended in motor oil for direct use into engines -- Cerma Motor Oil, an oil that will go and go and go and go.... Beyond synthetic protection at a competitive price.
“The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence.” ― Nikola Tesla (Inventor). Cerma STM-3 Engine Treatments and Cerma Motor Oils -- SiC Lubrication that create a phenomena inside the engine to revive, restore, and keep engines running at peak performance. Save on oil, save on fuel, reduce emissions - CERMA, It's SiC!
The Cerma Team
John Murray: Chief Technology Officer / Founder / Inventor
Mr. Murray continues to innovate, develop and create for Cerma. As Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Murray is constantly experimenting with Cerma's revolutionary SiC technology to extend and enhance Cerma's present product line and develop new methods and uses. Mr. Murray's main background is in automotive engineering, electrical engineering, holds a license in HVAC, but has spent time in other technology industries including dental equipment design and manufacturing, X-ray system design and re-manufacturing, and ink jet printing inks.
