There are other oils, oil filters and add-ons that will take you out to 30K, 40K or 50K miles without an oil change.  Just add enough chemicals to the oil, or clean the oil with an expensive filter, and some motor oils can last for an extended drain interval.

The Cerma difference is that we are not just making a motor oil last long, but we are changing the entire motor oil component of the vehicle to a complete SELF-CLEANING ANTI-WEAR LUBRICATION SYSTEM.  During the ENTIRE oil change interval, Cerma Motor Oils keep the system clean, and continue to prevent wear inside the engine.

Real Word Examples:

A) 2013 Kubota M135GX Diesel Engine with regen motor

At third oil change (615 hours), motor oil was changed to out to CERMAX 15w40 Diesel Motor Oil.  Tractor ran for an additional 275 hours at which time a Cerma oil sample was sent in for testing.

Contamination - There is no indication of any contamination in the component.
Oil Condition - The BN result indicates that there is suitable alkalinity remaining in the oil.
Wear - All component wear rates are normal.

 

(Note:  50 hours equates to about 6000 miles in this type of equipment.)

Wear rates from the WearCheck MOB II Oil Analysis report were not just normal, they were extraordinary.  NO wear rates on Nickel, Chromium, Titanium, or Lead, and minuscule wear rates on Iron, Copper, Aluminum, and Tin.

The "Soot %", a major of contamination in a diesel engine, was at 0!  Many engine manufacturers allow up to 3 or higher soot before changing the oil. By not allowing the fuel soot to go over 3, the oil does not get dirty and the engine lives longer, which is the primary goal of any owner-operator.  A reading of 0% Soot -- extraordinary performance.

In addition to these outstanding improvements in engine wear, the user gained a dramatic increase in fuel economy with a reported savings of over 23% during his last season.

In summary, even after 275 hours of operation (which equates to 30,000 miles plus), nothing is wearing and the Cerma Motor Oil continues protecting the engine at maximum levels.

 B) 2001 Cummings Freightliner FLD Diesel Engine

Purchased vehicle with 1,010,000 miles on it with a claim of a rebuild at 750,000 miles.  Added Cerma STM-3 Diesel Engine Treatment at 1,020,000 miles.  Changed oil to CERMAX 15w40 Diesel Motor Oil at 1,047,000 miles.  Cerma oil test at 1,059,000 miles (12,000 miles on CERMAX Motor Oil).

• Contamination - Elemental level of silicon (Si) above normal indicating ingress of seal material. The amount and size of particulates present in the system is acceptable.
• Oil Condition - The BN result indicates that there is suitable alkalinity remaining in the oil. The condition of the oil is suitable for further service.
• Wear - All component wear rates are normal.

Again, wear rates from the WearCheck MOB II Oil Analysis report were not just normal, they were extraordinary.  So even after 12,000 miles of running on Cerma Motor Oil, nothing is wearing, and the motor oil is performing its function of protecting the engine at maximum levels.
A note on the levels of silicon:  Cerma Motor Oils and treatments contain the active STM-3 ingredient, and STM-3 does contain SI in its component.  Regardless of the reason, levels are acceptable and NORMAL for the engine and oil.

C) 2011 Ford Fusion Gasoline Engine

Purchased vehicle with 33,000 miles  Added Cerma STM-3 Treatment at 35,000 miles.  Changed oil to CERMAX 5w30 Motor Oil at 37,500 miles.  Oil test at 57,500 miles (20,000 miles on CERMAX Motor Oil with filter change every 5,000 miles).  

2011 Ford FusionOil Analysis Report:
• Contamination - Elemental level of silicon (Si) above normal indicating ingress of seal material. The amount and size of particulates present in the system is acceptable.
• Oil Condition - The AN level is acceptable for this fluid. The condition of the oil is suitable for further service.
• Wear - All component wear rates are normal.

Wear rates from the WearCheck MOB II Oil Analysis report were not just normal, they were extraordinary.  After 20,000 miles of running on Cerma Motor Oil, nothing is wearing, and the motor oil is performing its function of protecting the engine at maximum levels.  Report does show that the TBN is low, which would suggest that at the next service oil test (another 10,000 miles for a total of 30,000 miles on Cerma Motor Oil), oil should be changed.

User is also reporting a 25% increase in fuel economy under highway driving at 75 miles per hour.
